Benjamin Frenkel first learned how to play chess at age 9, and played one tournament that year. At the time he wasn't so interested in chess, so he only played occasionally with family. At 13 he played his first tournament since 2009, and became very interested in the beauty of chess. With unwavering determination and a passion for chess Benjamin jumped from a rating of 460 to 1835 in under a year! Now having received the National Master title from USCF after playing chess just shy of 3 years, he is working towards getting the Fide Master title. Benjamin is very excited to be passing along what he has learned to his students at NTCA.
