Why Chess?

Benefits of Chess

We at the NTCA all have our own unique life stories, but the common theme that brings us together is that chess was a gift given to us at young age. Since becoming enamored by the Royal Game, we all have benefited greatly from its influence. It is this influence which we intend to convey to all who come through our doors. The positive effects of chess have been well documented, it has proven to help with critical thinking, decision making, increase test scores, and improve social skills. Chess teaches many far reaching life lessons, however a special emphasis will be put on our four Core Values: Respect, Enthusiasm, Confidence, and Determination.
