One common trait among the NTCA Staff is Enthusiasm. We have all found great enjoyment through Chess and aim to pass this gift along to each student. Come to the Academy each day with an enthusiasm for learning and your efforts will be rewarded. Try to find the positives in your daily routines and reach your full potential.

Why choose NTCA?

At the NTCA we believe the game of chess can inspire and empower people of all ages. Our goal is to provide a family friendly environment where children and adults can all become students of the game.

The only chess training facility in the Dallas/Ft. Worth area, led by Director and National Master Christopher Toolin. All of the coaches are not only active tournament competitors, but also have many years of teaching experience. Our spacious and clean facility, as well as a friendly staff are some the key differences that separate us. Using modern technology, the NTCA Curriculum, and most importantly our Core Values (Respect, Enthusiasm, Determination, Integrity), we strive to incorporate these into every aspect of our programs and instill a passion for chess that will last a lifetime.

Please join us at the North Texas Chess Academy as we work to grow the chess community in the DFW metroplex.

Chess tournaments encourage students to test their skills in a healthy competitive environment. Tournament play is essential for students to grow on and off the chessboard. The challenges of tournament chess teach students life skills such as tenacity, problem solving, and quick decision making.
